The faculty aspires to be a leading local and regional educational institution, internationally accredited and ranked in education, scientific research, and community service, adhering to the highest quality standards and best educational and scientific practices. It aims to be a benchmark for languages and translation – in study, teaching, practice, and training – at both the local and regional levels.
Mission
The faculty aims to provide society with qualified specialists, both male and female, possessing theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in the field of foreign languages, literature, and translation, and to meet the needs of the job market in foreign languages, literature, and translation and to meet the needs of the labor market in foreign languages, literature, and translation, and to build bridges of intellectual and cultural communication between peoples, and to spread advanced knowledge and methods of benefiting from foreign languages and literature in local and regional communities.
Department Objectives
1.To elevate the German Language and Literature program to a leading position among similar departments locally and regionally to prepare specialists from among the department’s graduates, equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, linguistic abilities, and interpersonal skills.
2.To develop a specialized and qualified academic staff of the staff members capable of working collaboratively.
3.To produce students proficient in the German language.
4.It provides opportunities for postgraduate education (Master’s and PhD).
5.It fosters collaboration and communication between the department and its counterparts in other faculties and universities.
6.It serves the applied aspect of scientific research through courses with interdisciplinary themes.
7.It facilitates the establishment of collaborative agreements between the department and its counterparts in universities abroad.
8. Serving the practical aspect of scientific research through courses whose topics are characterized by interdisciplinary nature.
