It also aims to serve as a benchmark in languages and translation in terms of study, teaching, practice, and professional qualification at the local and regional levels.
Mission
The Faculty is committed to preparing highly qualified graduates in foreign languages, literature, and translation through the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This mission aims to meet labor-market needs, promote intercultural communication among diverse communities, and advance knowledge and methodologies related to the study and application of foreign languages and literature within local and regional contexts.
College goals
1. To train specialized professionals in Eastern languages, modern European languages, and translation.
2. To enhance students’ competence in language studies and provide training in a wide range of translation activities.
3. To align the Faculty’s academic programs with labor-market demands and developmental needs.
4. To promote research, academic writing, critical analysis, and editing in the fields of languages and translation.
5. To participate in international conferences related to Eastern languages, modern European languages, and translation, and to organize specialized academic seminars and workshops.
6. To provide consultancy services and specialized expertise to both public and private sectors.
7. To contribute to community development by offering written translation and oral interpretation services.
8. To develop, implement, and evaluate language and translation programs in accordance with university policies and evolving educational needs.
9. To offer training courses for university departments and various sectors of the community in order to meet the language and translation training needs of governmental and non-governmental institutions.
10. To maintain cooperation and continuous communication with institutes, faculties, and similar institutions worldwide in order to benefit from their expertise and foster academic collaboration.
11. To promote translation into and from Arabic, as well as among the various languages taught within the Faculty.
